Sycamore House is a sober living house for alcoholic and chemically dependent men in recovery. We are located at 5439 Gravois Avenue, Saint Louis, Missouri 63116 in the Bevo Mill area in South St.Louis.
Men are admitted without regard to race, religion or national origin. The only requirements for admission are obvious need, a sincere desire to recover, a willingness to work a Twelve Step Program, and some prospect of success. Existing residents vote on the admission of new residential candidates that are first approved by the admissions committee of the Board of Directors.
Sycamore House men pay rent, and provide their own food and household items. They are required to be gainfully employed, perform assigned household tasks and live responsibly with respect for each other.
Sycamore House is not a treatment center, but active participation in a Twelve-Step Program is required as a vital part of the recovery program. Sponsorship, participation in a weekly in-house twelve-step meeting and attendance at twelve-step meetings with the local recovery community is required. Residents are required to follow house rules related to maintaining a clean and orderly living environment and practicing mutual accountability regarding the recovery program. A Resident is dismissed immediately and without question in the event of relapse.
The House can accommodate nine residents, plus the House Manager. Each resident has a private room, with a bed and desk.
